Even though she is far away, I can still smell her perfume. That's because a dog's smell is a thousand times better than a human's

What makes a dog's nose so extremely sensitive?🤨

1️It's wet, so it picks up odor molecules better.

2️It has two air ducts, one to breathe and one to sniff. When the dog sniffs, air enters the nasal cavity channel, which contains the olfactory receptors.

3️The olfactory region of the nose can have an area of 50 in² or even more, and for humans, this area is only 2 in².

4️A dog's nose has 50 times more olfactory receptors than a human's.

These characteristics allow a dog to detect different components of odors. For example, a human perceives the smell of soup as a whole, but a dog can smell every ingredient😋

What a complex system to capture the favorite smell of Bully Sticks🙂
